1. Who is Legend Brass?
Legend Brass is a professional brass ensemble and has performed in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since 1985. In addition to professional engagements, Legend Brass supports music education through educational concerts, private instruction and camps.

2. How is the Legend Brass Quintet Camp different from band camp?
A band camp typically enrolls three to five hundred students while the Legend Brass Quintet Camp enrolls a maximum of 150 students. Your child will primarily work in a group of 5-15 students and will receive personalized attention from each member of Legend Brass Quintet the entire week.

3. How will the Legend Brass Quintet Camp benefit my child?
Students play a variety of music including jazz, renaissance, and baroque. In addition, low brass students are challenged to perform a more active role as primary players. Overall, students receive an educational and socially enriching experience through camp activities.

4. Who can attend the Legend Brass Quintet Camp?
Students who play trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba are encouraged to attend our camps. The UTA Camp is available for students entering grades 6-12.

5. What does the tuition cost cover?
Tuition includes necessary music, basic supplies, camp T-shirt, and an evening of food and fun. Meals are not included in the basic camps. An optional CD recording of the final concert is offered at an additional cost.

Students will participate in the following.Le

Brass Ensembles

Students will be assigned to a brass quintet consisting of two trumpets, a horn, trombone/euphonium, and tuba. Students will also participate in a brass choir consisting of three brass quintets combined.


Master Class

Instrument specific master classes are given daily and include instruction on breathing exercises, warm-ups, basic embouchure, fundamental techniques, intonation, and ensemble skills.


Fundamentals Class

Advanced concepts of music theory, rhythmic accuracy, sight-reading, and jazz style will be presented in discussion and demonstration sessions each day.
